Step 1. Click on the text tool and select GOUDY STOUT and set the size to 50. Type the words "Bubble Gum" (Suggestion: Use the same font and exact settings as you go through this tutorial...Once you understand the process you can change things around. The effect works best with a wide font). |

Step 2. With the text layer selected, go to the 'Color & Texture' library and click on the color indicated in the image to the right. |

Copy and paste the text layer. Make the top text layer invisible by clicking on the eye in the layers window. Select the bottom text layer. Make the bottom text layer a package (press Ctrl + E) and then click on Object>Convert to>Bitmap. (Note: Making the text layer a package before converting it to a bitmap prevents any change in size). Click on 'Yes' to preserve the transparency. |

Select the bitmap layer. Click on Bitmap>Tweak>Color-Boost and then click on 'Apply.' Click on Bitmap>Effects>Gaussian Blur and set the radius = 7.5, amount=0.75 and the threshold=0.Click on Bitmap>Tweak>Embossed (Note: Make sure you do not select 'Oil Embossed') and set the contrast = 141, brightness = 252, and original = 179. Bevel this with a 'Smooth Bevel'; set the two horizontal sliders all the way to the right and set the light direction=135. |

Move the bitmap layer to the bottom. Click on the eye to remove the red x and make the text layer visible. Select the text layer (top layer) and give it a 'Soft Outline'; set the slider = 128 and click on the outline color (black by default) and change the RGB color to red=225, green=0, blue=113. On the layers window, select "Colorize' as the blending mode. |

Click on Project>Size and Color and change the canvas color to a blue...I set the RGB settings as follows: red=0, green=128, blue=256. That's it!! You're done!! You now have a cool bubble gum text effect. Careful not to over do it...it's bad for your teeth!! |
