Color Effect

This tutorial uses the Paint on Bitmap tool and the Blueprint to create an interesting color effect in RealDRAW.

Step 1. Open the bitmap you wish to use in RealDRAW. Click on Project>Trim Canvas. With the bitmap selected, click on Project>Blueprint>Load From Object. To see what you just did, click on the eye next to the bitmap layer to make the bitmap invisible.  When you do, you will see the blueprint---the image is displayed even though the bitmap isn't visible.  Now that you have verified the Blueprint, click on the eye next to the bitmap layer to make the bitmap visible again.

Step 2. With the bitmap selected, go to Bitmap>Tweak>Color Shift and then click on the 'Random' buttom until you see a color that you like. I picked a blue color for this effect, but feel free to pick whatever strikes your fancy.

Step 3. Click on the Paint New Bitmap tool (make sure you do not select the Paint on Object tool).  The background of the work area will change to a checkerboard pattern.  Click on the 'Clone from Bottom Layers' tool in the Brushes window and click on the 'Clone Switch: Layers/Blueprint" ball. When you click on the ball, it will turn blue. Select a round brush from the Default Set .

Step 4. Given the orientation of this image, I decided to paint on a diagonal. Painting actually reveals the image you set as the Blueprint. When you are done painting, click on the 'Object Selector Arrow' to return to the main work area. That's it!! Click here to see how this image would look with a background and some text.
