Cone |
In this tutorial you will learn how to put a bitmap on a cone, Shading is used along with a sun shadow effect to give the cone a rounded look. This tutorial assumes you have some basic understanding of RealDRAW and know how to draw a triangle. |
Step 1. Draw triangle, that looks like the one to the right. |
Step 2. Select the bitmap you want to use, Put it on top of your triangle in the Layers window. Then Select the bitmap, and copy (but don't paste it anywhere yet) it. |
Step 3, Select the Triangle. Then, right click on the triangle and select 'Paste Inside'. You triangle should look like mine to the right. If the objects in your triangle look 'stretchy', reduce the height of the triangle. |
Step 4.Drag out a flat circle, as long as the widest part of the triangle. Color it with a linear gradient, going from a light gray to a dark gray or black. Set the gradient % similar to mine at the right. |
Step 5.Draw a long, narrow circle and rotate it so it runs parallel with the side on the triangle. Color the circle white, give it a Feather bevel and reduce the opacity of the circle layer. See the settings to the right, and the results appears in step 6. |
Step 6. Here is the result from Step 5 above. See that long narrow white circle--it acts as a reflection and helps to make your triangle like rounded like a cone. Try adding other reflections to round out the cone. |
Step 7. I have added more reflections and a sun shadow to the triangle. The sun shadow also helps to make the triangle look rounded and cone-like. That is it, you are done. You are now an official conehead. If you are ambitious, try adding other objects around the cone and add a background. You can make some compelling images using the techniques show here. Here is one that I made, I call it 'Perspective' |
