Text Effects 1

In this tutorial, how to make changes in fonts already on your system, The resulting text effects are kewl and could be the basis for your logo designs or for text on a poster, etc. It is easy to do, and after you add color, bevel and shadow, the results can be compelling..

Step 1.

Type out the word you want to use. I used the Arial font sized to 80. I typed 'Xtreme' spelled in a trendy way (Apologies to Mrs, Bevins, my 3rd grade spelling teacher).

Step 2.

Select the word, go to Project>Convert to>Polynome. Then double left click on the word to see the nodes...The nodes are shown in the pic to your right.

Step 3,  We are going to alter the shape of the 'X'. Put your cursor on the node of the inner portion of the leftside of the upper part of the X as shown in the pic to the right. Click & Drag it on a diagonal towards the top left corner of the screen...go as far as you want, the farther, the more extreme your design will be.

Step 4.Your type should now look similar to the pic on your right.

Step 5.Put your cursor on the node of the inner portion of the RIGHT side of the upper part of the X as shown in the pic to the right. Click & Drag it on a diagonal towards the top RIGHT corner of the screen.

Step 6.  Here is the result from Step 5 above.

Step 7. Now do the same thing to the bottom portion of the X. Then add color, bevel and any effects or texture that you would like,Experiment with differnt fonts, and diffent bevels and colors and textures. My final product is shown to your right. Here are some more text effects that I made.
